Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions (Mercury, 1997) is trendy posturing as a grunge band which
was an old genre even the year it released. However this is an outstanding effort all around and proves
that Paul Stanley can branch out and still have a stand-alone guitar sound. Every song
has intriguing riffs
not only for a Kiss album, any Post-Grunge band wishes they could achieve this sound.
