Right out of the gate Music (Capricorn, 1993) shows major potential for 311. Improving upon the sound Rage Against the Machine
brought into rock a year earlier, 311 goes all over the place. A combination of reggae, classic funk, metal and hip hop. There's a two
vocalist dynamic where they both rap and sing, one of them having a more high pitched delivery, giving them an interesting variety of sounds.
