Produced by El-P of Company Flow, The Cold Vein (Definitive Jux, 2001) is a legendary rap album, with tons of interesting beats and MC "Vast Aire" in his absolute prime. There's not a single wasted moment on here.
It's peak. AIREPLANE (IGC, 2025) is their first record in 10 years, and his flow/bars are very decent on this, but the beats are extremely generic. Not that Vast was ever solely relying on the beats to flow well, but these miss the mark
so much to the point of being distracting.
